Basketball Camp Florida Panhandle | FCP Sports Fort Walton Beach

Basketball camp in the Florida Panhandle — Fort Walton Beach, Destin, Niceville, Navarre, Pensacola. Year-round sessions, grades K–12. FCP Sports Spartan Training Center.

FCP Sports, Fort Walton Beach FL

The Florida Panhandle is a long strip of communities — from Pensacola in the west through Fort Walton Beach, Destin, Niceville, Navarre, and east toward Panama City — and across this region there is one dedicated basketball camp and training facility: FCP Sports in Fort Walton Beach.

If you’re searching for a basketball camp in the Florida Panhandle, this is what you’ll find.

Why the Panhandle Has Limited Options

Unlike Central Florida or South Florida, the Florida Panhandle doesn’t have multiple competing basketball academies, mega-gyms, or university-affiliated camp programs within 20 minutes of most residents. The population is spread across military communities (Eglin AFB, Hurlburt Field, NAS Pensacola), beach resort towns, and smaller inland cities — not the dense metro market that supports multiple competing basketball facilities.

That means FCP Sports fills a role that matters differently here than it would in Orlando or Tampa. We’re the Panhandle’s basketball specialist. The 14,000 sq ft Spartan Training Center in Fort Walton Beach isn’t supplementing a broader basketball infrastructure — in many ways, it is the infrastructure.

Programs for Every Panhandle Community

Fort Walton Beach — Home base. Walk-in drive time.

Destin — 15 minutes via US-98 West. Destin families attend every summer session. There is no dedicated basketball camp in Destin — FCP Sports is the local option.

Niceville — 15 minutes via FL-85 South. Niceville middle school athletes preparing for Niceville High school teams are a consistent part of every camp week.

Navarre — 25 minutes via US-98 West. Many Navarre families make the drive because the programming available locally doesn’t match what’s available at a dedicated facility.

Crestview — 30 minutes via FL-85 South. Crestview athletes preparing for NWFSC programs, Crestview High, and south-toward-FWB options attend regularly.

Pensacola — 45 minutes east on US-98. Pensacola has active school and rec programs, but families seeking specialized basketball development make the drive. Saturday intensives are specifically designed for Pensacola athletes who don’t want to fight weeknight traffic.

Panama City — ~50 minutes west on US-98. We see Panama City athletes for dedicated camp weeks and private lessons blocks.

Military Families Across the Panhandle

The Florida Panhandle is one of the most military-dense regions in the country. Eglin AFB, Hurlburt Field, Duke Field, and NAS Pensacola together bring tens of thousands of military families into the region — many arriving mid-school-year, looking for structured sports programming to plug their athletes into quickly.

FCP Sports offers a $20 military discount on all camp programs (any branch, any base — bring your ID). Military families who just PCS’d to the Panhandle often need to plug their athlete into a structured basketball environment quickly — a camp week or skills training enrollment is the fastest way to get connected.

If your family just PCS’d to the Panhandle and your athlete has been playing seriously, a camp week or skills training enrollment is the fastest way to get them connected to local basketball.

See our military families page for specifics.

Visiting the Emerald Coast?

Fort Walton Beach and Destin are major vacation destinations — and families passing through often have athletes who don’t want to take a week off from training during summer vacation.

FCP Sports runs camp programs throughout the summer that are open to visiting athletes on a week-to-week basis. Drop-in open gym (returns August 2026) and private lessons are also available for families in town for shorter visits.

The Facility

Every FCP Sports camp runs inside the Spartan Training Center — a 14,000 sq ft dedicated basketball facility at 33 Jet Drive NW in Fort Walton Beach. Climate-controlled (Florida summer heat stays outside), multiple courts for simultaneous stations, and a permanent coaching staff whose only job is basketball development.

The program is advised by Kenny Anderson — second overall pick in the 1991 NBA Draft, 14-year NBA veteran — whose experience shapes the curriculum and coaching standards at every camp level.
