Girls Basketball Camp Fort Walton Beach FL | FCP Sports
Girls basketball camp in Fort Walton Beach for ages 7–17 with dedicated sessions, female coaches, and structured skill development from $149/week.
A Basketball Camp Built Around Girls Who Want to Get Better
There is a real, persistent gap on the Emerald Coast: dedicated basketball programming for girls. Rec leagues are co-ed by default. AAU options skew heavily toward boys’ teams. School practice is seasonal and limited. And most “summer basketball camps” you find on Google are designed without female athletes specifically in mind — girls show up, get put in a group of mostly boys, and the programming just runs as-is.
FCP Sports built our girls basketball camp because Fort Walton Beach, Destin, Niceville, Navarre, and the surrounding communities have hundreds of female athletes serious about the game and very few places designed to develop them. Our camp answers that gap with structured, year-round programming led by USA Basketball certified coaches — including female coaches — inside the only dedicated basketball facility on the Emerald Coast.
If your daughter wants to make her middle school team, earn a starting spot at Choctawhatchee or Niceville High, develop the skills colleges actually look at, or simply fall in love with the game in an environment where she’s not the lone girl in the gym — this is the camp built for her.
Why a Dedicated Girls Camp Matters
We coach a lot of co-ed weeks, and they work fine. But there’s a reason we built dedicated girls programming on top of that. Female athletes — especially in the 10–14 window — develop measurably faster when they train with other girls. The reasons aren’t mysterious:
- More reps in scrimmage situations. When boys outnumber girls 8-to-2 in a scrimmage group, the ball doesn’t move the same way. In dedicated girls sessions, every athlete gets equal touches, equal shot opportunities, and equal defensive reads.
- Coaching language calibrated to female athletes. The technical fundamentals are identical. But the cues, the pacing, the way feedback gets delivered — those work better when the coaching staff has experience with how girls learn the game.
- Peer modeling. A 12-year-old girl watching a strong 14-year-old girl execute a move will internalize it differently than watching a boy of any age do the same thing. Representation in the gym matters at this age.
- Confidence to ask questions. This one comes up constantly from parents. Girls in mixed groups often hold back on questions. In girls-dedicated sessions, the questions come fast — and so does the development.
We’re not making any of this up. Watch the difference between a dedicated girls week and a co-ed week side by side and you’ll see it in the first 20 minutes.
Female Coaches and a USA Basketball Certified Staff
Every coach on the FCP Sports staff is USA Basketball certified. That’s a baseline standard, not a marketing line — it covers safety, age-appropriate progressions, and ethical coaching practices that the national governing body of basketball has codified.
On top of that baseline, our girls camps are led by female coaches with playing experience at the high school, college, or professional level. Your daughter doesn’t have to imagine what a serious basketball career looks like for women — she can ask the coach standing in front of her about it.
Our overall basketball program is also advised by Kenny Anderson — the second overall NBA Draft pick, 14-year NBA veteran, and Hall of Famer who has shaped the standards and curriculum we use across every age and gender group. The standards your daughter trains to are the same standards an NBA pro signs off on.
Summer 2026 Girls Basketball Camp Schedule
Our summer camps run nine consecutive weeks, June 1 through July 31, 2026. Every week offers a Morning Camp (9:30 AM – 1:00 PM) and an Afternoon Camp (2:00 PM – 5:30 PM), each priced at $149. Girls registrations are coordinated to ensure dedicated girls-only groups in the weeks below — and to maintain strong female peer presence across all weeks.

What Your Daughter Will Work On
Skill development at FCP Sports follows a structured curriculum, not random drills. Here’s the actual content of a girls camp week:
- Ball handling under pressure — two-ball drills, pressure dribbling, change-of-direction work that translates directly to game situations
- Shooting mechanics — form refinement, off-the-dribble shooting, catch-and-shoot rhythm, and free-throw consistency (the single highest-ROI skill in girls basketball at every level)
- Footwork — pivots, jab steps, triple-threat positioning, defensive slides, closeouts
- Position-aware development — guards work on creating, posts work on sealing and finishing, every athlete learns to play multiple positions
- Game IQ — film review during midday breaks (yes, even at the youth level), spacing concepts, defensive reads
- Live competition — coached scrimmages every day with real-time feedback and Friday’s competitive challenges
Monday includes a baseline skill assessment. Friday includes a repeat assessment. Parents leave the week with a written breakdown of exactly what improved.
Who Comes to FCP Sports Girls Basketball Camp
We see a consistent mix every summer. Knowing who shows up may help you place your daughter:
- Elementary school girls from Florosa Elementary, Edwins Elementary, and Liza Jackson Prep who are starting to take basketball seriously and want a full-week introduction beyond rec league
- Middle school athletes from Pryor Middle, Bruner Middle, Meigs Middle, and Ruckel Middle preparing for school tryouts or wanting to bridge between AAU seasons
- High school players from Choctawhatchee High, Fort Walton Beach High, Niceville High, and Crestview High working on specific weaknesses ahead of the high school season
- Destin and Navarre families making the 15–25 minute drive because there is no comparable girls programming in their cities
- Military family daughters from Eglin AFB and Hurlburt Field whose families just PCS’d to the area and need a structured way to plug their daughter into the local basketball community
If your daughter is a beginner or a returning athlete, we will place her in the right group on day one. Skill assessment is built into Monday for exactly that reason.

Year-Round Girls Basketball Beyond Summer
Summer camp is the entry point for many families, but FCP Sports runs girls basketball programming year-round:
- Spring Break Camp — March 2027, four-day skill-building program for grades 3–12 with girls groupings
- Fall and Spring Youth Leagues — full-season league play with girls divisions across age groups
- Private Basketball Lessons — 1-on-1 or small-group sessions with female coaches available on request, from $50/session
- Open Gym — drop-in basketball for youth and adult players, returns August 2026
Many of our most committed girls athletes string these programs together: summer camp builds the foundation, fall league applies the skills, spring break camp resets and refreshes, and private lessons fill in specific weaknesses along the way.
Locations We Serve Across the Emerald Coast
FCP Sports is the only dedicated basketball camp for girls within easy driving distance of the major Emerald Coast communities. Drive times to our Fort Walton Beach facility:
- Fort Walton Beach — On-site (33 Jet Drive NW)
- Destin — ~15 minutes via US-98 W
- Niceville — ~20 minutes via FL-85 S
- Navarre — ~25 minutes via US-98 W
- Crestview — ~30 minutes via FL-85 S
Many girls families coordinate carpools from neighboring cities — particularly during summer camp weeks. Ask us about connecting with families in your area who already make the drive.
A Note for Military Families
Eglin AFB and Hurlburt Field are part of the Fort Walton Beach community, and we work with dozens of military families every year — including girls from families that PCS’d here mid-school-year and needed a fast way to plug their daughter into a structured basketball environment. Our $20 military discount applies to every camp week year-round, and our scheduling flexibility is built around the realities of deployment, TDY, and last-minute shifts. If you’ve just arrived to the area, a girls camp week is one of the fastest ways your daughter will meet other female athletes and start building a peer group.
