Summer League: Stay Competitive While School Is Out

Summer break should not mean three months off the court. The FCP Sports summer basketball league keeps players from Fort Walton Beach, Destin, Niceville, Navarre, and Crestview competing in a structured, well-run league while school is out. Tuesday and Thursday evening games leave your weekends open for everything else summer brings.

This is the same quality you get in our fall and winter leagues: trained, paid referees, per-game stats, online standings, post-game coaching, and playoff brackets. The season is shorter (6 weeks instead of 8) because we know summer schedules are less predictable – but the competitive level stays high.

Military families from Eglin AFB and Hurlburt Field receive a discount on all league registrations.

Season Details

• Season: June – July 2026
• Duration: 6 regular-season games + single-elimination playoff
• Game days: Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 6-8pm

Four Divisions, Age-Appropriate Rules

Mini Division (K-2nd Grade, Ages 5-8) – $59 Modified rules with 8-foot baskets, smaller balls, and no full-court press. The emphasis is on fun, fundamentals, and building confidence. Jersey included.

Junior Division (3rd-5th Grade, Ages 8-11) – $79 Standard youth rules with 10-foot baskets. Zone and man-to-man defense allowed. Real refs and real stats from day one. Jersey included.

Intermediate Division (6th-8th Grade, Ages 11-14) – $89 Near-regulation rules with full-court press, advanced offensive sets, and defensive schemes. Coaching between quarters allowed. Jersey included.

Senior Division (9th-12th Grade, Ages 15-18) – $99 Full FHSAA-adjacent rules. Competitive reps for high school athletes who want to stay sharp over the summer. Film review available between games. Jersey included.

Discounts

• Early bird: $20 off when you register 4+ weeks before the season starts

Discounts can be combined. Payment plans are available for all divisions.

How Teams Are Formed

Same as all FCP Sports leagues: teams are drafted for competitive balance. Players are evaluated and distributed so games stay tight and meaningful. Friend requests are accommodated when possible but never at the expense of a fair draft.

Why Tuesday and Thursday Evenings?

Summer in Northwest Florida means heat. Our facility is climate-controlled, but evening games from 6-8pm just fit summer life better. You get your days free for the beach, family trips, or daytime camps. And your weekends stay open – no Saturday morning alarms during the one time of year you do not need them.

Pair It With Summer Camp

Many families combine our summer league with FCP Sports basketball camps for a complete summer of development. Camp runs during the day, league games happen in the evening. Your child gets skills training and competitive game experience in the same week.
