Basketball Camp in Fort Walton Beach — Day & Week-Long Programs at FCP Sports
Basketball camp in Fort Walton Beach with structured drills, scrimmages & film review. Half-day, full-day & week-long sessions for ages 6–17.
Why FCP Sports Runs the Best Basketball Camp on the Emerald Coast
Most basketball camps in northwest Florida are run out of school gyms, rec centers, or church fellowship halls — multipurpose spaces where basketball shares time with volleyball, dodge ball, and whatever else the facility has scheduled. FCP Sports is different. We are a dedicated basketball-only facility in Fort Walton Beach, built from the ground up for one sport.
That means real hoops at regulation height, a hardwood court with proper markings, a scoreboard, climate control for Florida summer heat, and coaches who aren’t pulled in fifteen directions. When your child comes to basketball camp here, the entire building exists for one purpose.
Located just 5 minutes from the Okaloosa Island bridge and 15 minutes from Destin, we’re the most accessible dedicated basketball camp on the Emerald Coast. Parents stationed at Eglin AFB or Hurlburt Field know us well — we’re the structured summer option that keeps kids developing when school is out and base resources are stretched thin.
Camp Formats: Half-Day, Full-Day & Week-Long Sessions
We run three camp formats to fit different schedules and goals:
Half-Day Camp (Morning): Perfect for younger players or families with afternoon commitments. Drop off at 8:00 AM, pick up at noon. Covers fundamentals, station work, and scrimmages.
Full-Day Camp: The most comprehensive experience. 7:30 AM drop-off through 3:30 PM pickup. Includes full morning fundamentals block, lunch break, afternoon skill stations, team scrimmages, and a film review session.
Week-Long Intensive: Our flagship summer program. Players attend Monday through Friday and see real, measurable improvement by Friday afternoon. We do a baseline skill assessment on day one and a repeat assessment on day five so players (and parents) can see exactly what improved.
Drop your kid at camp and spend the day at Okaloosa Island — you’re five minutes away. Our gym is climate-controlled, so you never have to worry about Florida summer heat affecting your child’s safety or comfort.
What Your Child Will Learn at Basketball Camp
We don’t run basketball camp like babysitting with a ball. Every session follows a curriculum built around four core areas:
Ball Handling
Stationary dribble work, on-the-move combinations, pressure dribble drills. By end of camp, players can execute crossover, between-the-legs, and behind-the-back moves with confidence.
Shooting Mechanics
Form shooting from short range, spot shooting, off-the-dribble pull-ups. We use video on the final day so players can see their release and understand what to self-correct.
Footwork & Defense
Defensive slide drills, closeout technique, help-side positioning, and offensive footwork — pivots, jabs, drop steps. Footwork separates players at the next level, and most camps skip it entirely.
Basketball IQ & Game Situations
Scrimmages are not free-for-all time — they’re coached. Players learn when to drive versus shoot, how to read a defense, how to set and use a screen. We pause live play to teach, then resume.

Age Groups & Skill Levels We Accept
Players from Plew Elementary, Pryor Middle, and Choctawhatchee High School have all attended FCP Sports camps. We group by both age and ability, so your 4th grader who has never touched a basketball works with kids at the same level — not with 8th graders going through college-prep drills.
- Beginner Group (ages 6–9): Rules, basic dribbling, layups, fun-first approach
- Intermediate Group (ages 9–13): Skill development, positioning, competitive games
- Advanced Group (ages 13–17): High school prep, position-specific work, film review
Camp Packing Checklist
- Court shoes (no black-sole shoes that mark the floor)
- Athletic shorts and shirt (no jeans)
- Water bottle — refill stations available
- Packed lunch and snacks (full-day campers)
