Youth Basketball League in Fort Walton Beach — Competitive & Recreational Leagues at FCP Sports
Youth basketball league in Fort Walton Beach with trained refs, stat tracking & real competition. Competitive & recreational divisions for ages 5-18. Starting at $59 with jersey included.
FCP Sports Basketball League: More Than Just Games
The Okaloosa County Parks & Recreation basketball league is fine for what it is — but it’s a school gym, shared multipurpose space, volunteer refs, no stats, and games played on whatever court happens to be available. If your child has outgrown the rec league experience, or if they’ve never played in organized league play and you want them starting in a quality environment, FCP Sports offers something better.
Our basketball league is played entirely in our dedicated facility in Fort Walton Beach. Real scoreboard. Trained and paid referee crew. Post-game coaching sessions. Standings tracked online. Playoff brackets. This is the basketball league experience that teaches what practice cannot: decision-making under pressure, handling adversity, competing with teammates, and playing through a real season.
Teams include players from Fort Walton Beach, Destin, Niceville, Navarre, and Crestview — representing the full breadth of the Emerald Coast basketball community. Military families from Eglin AFB and Hurlburt Field are welcome and receive a military discount.

|---|---|---|---|
| Mini | K-2nd | 5-8 | $59 |
| Junior | 3rd-5th | 8-11 | $79 |
| Intermediate | 6th-8th | 11-14 | $89 |

Payment plans available for all divisions. For context, the FWB city rec league runs $30-50 and Pensacola rec leagues run $40-85. FCP is priced above basic rec but well below travel and AAU programs — and you get a dedicated facility, paid refs, and stats that rec leagues do not offer.
League Divisions by Age & Skill Level
We run separate divisions to keep competition fair and developmentally appropriate:
Mini Division (Ages 5–8): Modified rules — lower basket (8 ft), smaller ball, no pressing, focus on learning the game. Score is kept but the emphasis is on fun and fundamentals.
Junior Division (Ages 8–11): Standard youth rules, 10-foot baskets, zone and man defense allowed. Real refs, real stats. Most players in this division have 1–3 years of experience.
Intermediate Division (Ages 11–14): Near-regulation rules. Players are introduced to full-court press, advanced offense, and defensive schemes. Coaching between quarters allowed.
Senior Division (Ages 15–18): Full FHSAA-adjacent rules. This division is for high school players and serious athletes. Film is reviewed between games.
Season Schedule, Format & Game Days
A standard FCP Sports league season runs 6-8 regular-season weeks plus a single-elimination playoff. Each team plays one or two games per week. Game days vary by season but are structured to avoid conflicts with school sports and family schedules.
- Regular season: 6-8 games depending on the season
- Playoff bracket: top 4 or top 8 teams per division
- Awards: trophies and recognition for champions at every level

Team Formation: Drafts and Rosters
We draft teams for competitive balance. Players are not self-grouped, which means travel ball parents cannot stack a team. The draft process evaluates skill level and places players across teams to keep games competitive and meaningful.
Players who already have a group (e.g., friends from school or a team that played together before) can request to be on the same roster — subject to draft balance constraints.
Parent & Spectator Information
FCP Sports games are run with a real game atmosphere: scoreboard, music, and a PA system. Spectator seating is available. We ask parents to let coaches coach and refs ref — we enforce a positive sideline environment at every game. Any behavior that negatively affects the experience is addressed by facility staff immediately.
